The First Bloom
A letter from the garden gate — welcome to the start of something slow and beautiful.

This week, I arranged late spring blooms on my kitchen table. I thought about how these quiet, simple rituals bring so much peace. In the hustle of life, the small moments like lighting a candle, brewing tea, or sitting under the sun remind us to slow down. I’m sharing a little of that magic with you today. Let’s savor the beauty of the slow lane together.

Success to me, is no longer about chasing titles, accolades, or the approval of others. It’s about alignment. Living a life that feels true to my soul. It’s waking up to slow, peaceful mornings with my family, tending to a garden that reflects the beauty of simplicity, and creating a home that feels like a sanctuary. It’s having the freedom to express myself creatively through work that inspires and uplifts. All while making enough to live comfortably and provide a life filled with joy and connection. Success is about finding fulfillment in the present moment, appreciating the small, magical details of everyday life. It’s not about more, it’s about enough and making space for what truly matters.

As we move from the soft bloom of spring into the golden warmth of summer, this is your invitation to slow down—not speed up. Early summer asks us to breathe a little deeper, move a little gentler, and savor what’s already here. Rather than rushing into packed schedules or hustle energy, we get to ease into this new season with softness and intention. Let this be a time to soak in the sunlight, listen to your needs, and create space for quiet joy. This season is not about doing more—it’s about feeling more present.

HOME
Hosting a late spring dinner with family is a wonderful way to celebrate the season of renewal and connection. Set the scene with a table adorned in soft pastel tones, fresh flowers, and a mix of vintage and simple dinnerware that feels both elegant and welcoming. Serve dishes that highlight the best of spring, like a crisp asparagus salad, lemon-roasted chicken, and a light berry tart for dessert. Keep the atmosphere relaxed by opening the windows to let in the evening breeze or dining outdoors under string lights. Encourage slow conversations, laughter, and savor each moment together. Reminding everyone of the joy found in simple gatherings.
GARDEN
The last of the spring blooms are beginning to fade, and early summer is quietly unfolding—one petal at a time. Some flowers are already in full bloom, reaching for the sun. Others are still tucked in, waiting for their moment. It’s a gentle reminder that every flower blooms in its own time—and so do we.
This season, try noticing the small signs of growth around you: the first tomato on the vine, the way lavender leans toward the light, or how the breeze feels different than it did in May. Let your garden be a mirror, showing you how to grow slowly, patiently, and without rushing.
Where in my day can I create a little more slowness?
What would it feel like to give myself permission to rest, even when there’s more to do?
Thank you for joining me in the lane this week! May your days be slow, sweet, and full of sunshine. See you next Sunday!
